I'm writing about the You Tube video that has been played out on Fox Network showing what purportedly was a Baltimore Police officer abusing a 14 year old skate boarder. Though the incident took place last summer, it has only surfaced on the net and TV. Why the delay, only the Tech Gods know.
First of all, some of the commentators on Fox News thought that the cop was in the wrong. Don't get me wrong, I like Fox, but I think they are way off base on this story. (sorry Meygan Kelly, with all due respect.)
This kid, (or little snot in my opinion) WAS BREAKING THE LAW. He was not only endangering himself, but others as well. Thats not even counting the possibility of damaging public property. That being said, if the kid had hurt himself, I can almost guarantee Mommy would have been screaming, "LAWSUIT".
Speaking of Mommy, does anyone know if she has not already started one, (lawsuit) because of the officer,s action, (and subsequent publicity)? I'm sure if she had, she probably had an army of lawyers clamoring for her affections, oh, and incindently the potential dollars involved. And of course being the wise, caring and intelligent Mom that she is, she probably doesn't realize that she would be lucky to see a dime on every dollar awarded.
Speaking of wise and caring, where was the kid's safety helmet and protective pads? Maybe little junior would be wise to follow the example of the professional DUDES!
Which comes to another point, the fact that the little darling was calling the police officer,"Dude".
All I know is this, when I was a kid, any other title except for sir, ma'am, or officer would be grounds for a smack, not only from the cop, but by my father or MOTHER. And I can honestly tell you this, there wouldn't have been a lawyer around anywhere.
When the officer asked him about his father, if I heard him correctly, I think the kid said he didn't have one. Which in my opinion, was the whole problem here. Maybe, perhaps, who knows, this whole situation might have been avoided if a father had been in the picture.
This officer should not have been penalized with suspension, loss of pay, and a black mark on his record. He should be rewarded for doing what "Little Snot's" PARENTS should have been doing?
